TIG-200P DC Cold Welder — Precision Welding Without the Heat Damage
Imagine laying down a perfect bead on razor-thin stainless steel without warping, without distortion, and without second-guessing your machine. That's the everyday reality with the TIG-200P DC Cold Welder from Doughty. Built for professional fabricators and serious hobbyists who demand consistent, clean results, this machine combines advanced pulse DC TIG technology with cold welding capability to give you total control — even on the most heat-sensitive materials.
Why Welders Choose the TIG-200P:
- Pulse DC TIG Technology — Dramatically reduces heat input for superior control on thin-gauge materials
- 200A Maximum Output — Tackles everything from delicate sheet metal to heavier fabrication work
- Cold Welding Mode — Minimizes thermal distortion on precision assemblies and heat-sensitive metals
- Stable, Consistent Arc — Professional-grade performance you can rely on shift after shift
- Multi-Material Capability — Welds carbon steel, stainless steel, mild steel, cast iron, and nickel alloys
- TIG + MMA Dual Function — Versatile enough for a wide range of shop and field applications
Ideal Applications
- Automotive repair and restoration
- Precision metal fabrication and manufacturing
- Maintenance and high-precision welding projects
- Thin or delicate components where rework is not an option
Competitive Advantages
- True Cold Welding: Significantly reduces distortion, outperforming conventional TIG machines on sensitive materials.
- Multi-Material Compatibility: Works on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and nickel alloys.
- Professional-Grade Stability: Consistent performance over long shifts with fewer errors.
TIG-200P DC Cold Welder - FAQ
1. Is TIG-200P suitable for beginners ?
Yes, but prior welding experience helps fully use cold weld and pulse TIG.
Tip: Practice pulse settings on scrap metal first.
2. How thin of a steel sheet can it weld ?
Ultra-thin metals can be welded; cold mode prevents warping.
Tip: Use low current and short pulse cycles on thin sheets.
3. Can TIG-200P weld stainless steel ?
Yes, compatible with stainless steel, carbon steel, cast iron, and nickel alloys.
Tip: Match electrode and shielding gas to material.
4. Is this machine suitable for auto repair ?
Yes, especially for thin panels and precise parts.
Tip: Use cold weld mode on body panels to reduce distortion.
5. Can TIG-200P be used outdoors?
Yes, but avoid rain and strong wind; ensure proper grounding.
Tip: Shield from wind/rain and maintain smooth gas flow.
6. What is its power and output ?
Max 200A, supports TIG and MMA dual function.
Tip: Adjust current based on material thickness.
7. Does cold weld mode really reduce distortion ?
Yes, it minimizes heat-affected zones and protects precision parts.
Tip: Keep a steady travel speed to avoid localized overheating.
8. Is this machine easy to transport ?
Compact and lightweight, suitable for shop and field.
Tip: Use straps or handles for safer transport.
9. Does TIG-200P require special gas ?
TIG requires argon; MMA does not.
Tip: Check flow meter for consistent shielding gas.
10. How different is it from a regular TIG welder ?
Significant: cold weld, thin material control, and multi-material compatibility.
Tip: Use cold weld mode for thin materials to get best results.

Vinova Testimonials
I've used all types, brands, mig, tig, spool guns, arc, and for the money this little guy surprised me, outperformed my expectations, hopefully it lasts, welded for 2 hours straight today right out the box. Only downfall is the fixed whip and lack of ability to run gas. But for a portable 110 mig on a 100 ft extension cord it delivered

This mig welder works great for what it is. It's a light duty welder, and they make no claims for it being anything else, but it's absolutely perfect for most home and hobbyist use.

I ran weld’s within its duty cycle and it performed perfectly. I’m truly impressed by the little button that adjusts the wire feed automatically. As far as performance, weak. If’n it can put out 80 amps I’d be impressed and if cranked up? Well it just kicks off. Maybe my units defective, idk. Nice even arc below 3/4 power though.
